2011 BALLET SEMINAR

 

GUIDELINES

  • Participants MUST be at least 10 years of age with four years of training in Classical Ballet & taking a suggested 2 - 3 ballet classes with their dance school. A copy of Birth Certificate MUST accompany the application form for all participants under 18 years of age.
  • A Medical Release MUST be submitted with the application for all participants under 18 years of age.

  • Participants MUST sign-in for each segment of the Ballet Seminar; UNLV Requirement of the program.

  • Dancers will abide by the following Dress Code:

             Hair must be pulled back off the face preferably in a bun & NO jewelry . No sweatpants or shorts.

             Ladies: Black leotard of choice with pink tights and pink ballet slippers (Pointe shoes, if applicable, for Pointe classes)
                          Short skirt with permission from the instructor
             Men: Black tights with a dance belt, white t-shirt, white socks and white ballet slippers

  • NO eating or drinking (water bottle allowed) in dance studios.

  • NO unnecessary conversation during class.

  • NO admittance to class if more than 10 minutes late. Dancers will be asked to sit and observe only.

  • A DEA Faculty member has the right to discharge any dancer from class for improper attire, disrespect or attitude.

  • NO OBSERVERS allowed except registered Teachers. Once in the room you must stay for the entire class.

  • A Certificate of Participation & DEA Scholarships (for outstanding work during the seminar) for the 2012 program year will be awarded on the final day of class. If the student is not present at the Awards presentation, certificates and scholarships will be forfeited.

  • The Choreography & Award presentation will take place at the Flamingo Hotel (approx. time 1:30 p.m. terminating at 3:00 p.m.) Please make your departing travel arrangements accordingly.

    Note: The Ballet Seminar Competition will not be held in 2011.
