REQUIREMENTS

Participants must be at least 10 years of age with four years of training in Classical Ballet & taking a suggested 2 - 3 ballet classes with their dance school. A copy of Birth Certificate must accompany the application form for all participants under 18 years of age.

MEDICAL RELEASE

A Medical Release must be submitted with the application for all participants under18 years of age

DRESS CODE

Dress Code for all participants is as follows:

  • Ladies: Black leotard of choice with pink tights. pink ballet slippers as well as pointe shoes, if applicable, for pointe classes. Short skirt with permission from the instructor.
  • Men: Black tights with a dance belt, white t-shirt, white socks and white ballet slippers.
  • Hair must be pulled back off the face preferably in a bun and no jewelry, sweatpants or shorts.

SIGN-IN

Participants must sign-in for each segment of the Ballet Seminar; UNLV Requirement of the program.

ETIQUETTE

  • No eating or drinking (water bottle allowed) in dance studios.
  • No unnecessary conversation during class.
  • No admittance to class if more than 10 minutes late. Dancers will be asked to sit and observe only.
  • A DEA Faculty member has the right to discharge any dancer from class for improper attire, disrespect or attitude.

OBSERVERS

No observers allowed except registered Teachers. Once in the room Teachers must stay for the entire class.

CERTIFICATION

A Certificate of Participation and DEA Scholarships for outstanding work during the seminar; valid for the 2012-2013 program year will be awarded on the final day of class. If the student is not present at the awards presentation, certificates and scholarships will be forfeited.

CHOREOGRAPHY AND AWARD PRESENTATION

The Choreography and Award presentation will take place approximately at 1:30 pm lasting until 3:00 pm on the last day of the Ballet Seminar. Please make your departing travel arrangements accordingly.
